The United States Chamber of Commerce Center for Corporate Citizenship (CCC) recently announced that Quixtar’s parent company, Alticor Inc., won the Corporate Citizenship Award in the category of International Community Service.

The Corporate Citizenship Award acknowledges Alticor’s ethical leadership and corporate stewardship through their global One by One campaign for children.

"Alticor is an example of corporate citizenship at its finest," said Chamber Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Suzanne Clark. "Alticor is one of our nation's pillars, advancing important social and economic goals in communities across the country."

Alticor's global One by One Campaign for Children has contributed more than $26 million to children's causes since 2003, providing hope and opportunity to well over 4 million kids worldwide.

Through the One by One Campaign for Children, Quixtar and its Independent Business Owners support Easter Seals with financial contributions and volunteer service. Earlier this year Quixtar launched the Artistry® Beauty Begins with Heart campaign through which Quixtar donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of designated Artistry products to Easter Seals.

Quixtar has also provided donations of children's vitamin and mineral supplements to the Healthy Foundation’s Vitamin Relief USA program. In addition, Quixtar supports the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts in the US and abroad.

"At Quixtar we consider it an honor and privilege to give back to the communities in which we work," said Jim Payne, Executive Vice President and Quixtar Managing Director. "To be recognized for our efforts is added reward."

Winners in five categories were announced on November 8 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. The other categories were: Citizenship in Action, U.S. Community Service, Corporate Stewardship Small/Midsize Business, and Corporate Stewardship Large Business Award. U.S. Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue, Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, and Harvard Business School professor Michael Porter presented the awards. Award winners are selected by distinguished leaders in the field of corporate citizenship, including past winners and the Center for Corporate Citizenship Advisory Board.
